Sole Zombie - Rising Stone

Sole Zombie - Rising Stone

Deep within an eerie forest lies an ancient stone. A stone of myth and legend. Legend has it that in order for the stone to rise, a creator from a new generation must align with the stars of the universe. This creator will not only raise the stone from the depths of the Earth, but will unleash hair-raising monsters on it’s shallow surface. Thus Sole Zombie is reborn, to wreak havoc on the living once again.

Hand drawn and inked for authenticity, this Rising Stone is straight from a comic book. I used different brush strokes to capture the rock textures. This would also allow for the eye to read the lettering accordingly, by creating thicker strokes that outline the drawing. The stone its self represents the rise of my brand and a new chapter in my life.

Rockin Zombie

A hand gesture we all know as “THE DEVIL HORNS” has been around for decades and are still used today.

I wanted to show a symbol in my illustration that demonstrates the importance of inspiration. At my most productive moments, I listen to music to help bring my drawings to life. This Rockin Zombie shows the simplicity of how music touches our souls and helps us create whats inside us.

From stages around the world, to underground mosh pits. This zombie hand will have you rockin in no time.

Hypnotic Skull

From the depths of my imagination, to old fashion ink and paper, this hypnotic skull can control it's victims from one stare of it's spellbinding eyes.

I wanted to create the illusion of a light source emerging from the skull's eyes. This would also be the focal point in the illustration, giving off a hypnotic effect.

The original drawing was hand drawn with ink, then converted into digital form to keep the illustration style. I used vibrant colors, textures, and different line strokes to complement each part of the drawing and pop it off the page.

Something Sketchy

A quick rendition of of a Japanese Koi. Something sketchy is a style I use when drawing quickly. I first sketch my subject, then ink the drawing as quickly as possible, without thinking of making mistakes or taking to much time to see where the next line will be. This method is something I like to do to warm up before a long or very detailed technical drawing.

This style gives me the freedom to capture the emotion and movement of the ink in a none structured manor. It’s also a good way to produce my own style of art. After the drawing, I make it digital and give it life by applying color. Take a look at my Zombie Koi and enjoy.

Birth of a Hero

What can I say, he’s a stud, a hero, and the only one that can save his planet.

RoboTeddy is not only a toy, but a icon. He is a complete package. From a brand, to a conceptual product with it’s own story.  Almost everything is handmade and produced by me. Some parts were bought and were used to create the final product.

Inspired by my favorite films growing up, RoboTeddy is an action hero. The packaging was handmade and constructed from pine wood and transformed into an iconic display. Android 54 was originally an ordinary bear until I brought him to life and gave him not only a new identity, but made him the hero in his own story. He is everything I wanted in character. He is my creation, and I am Dr. Frankenstein!!!!! A big thanks to my parents for allowing me start watching epic action/horror films at age 4. Love you guys.

 Geisha Sake

Geisha Sake

A project I created a while ago, but still one of my favorites. I took a traditional approach in this packaging. From using authentic Japanese tattoo Sumi ink, to burning kanji symbols on the outside of the packaging, making it official. I love Japanese culture and I wanted to establish something meaningful.

I created a limited edition packaging with additional elements to complement the bottle. By creating this type packaging, it would create value, not only to the product, but to the end user.

In ancient times, Japanese people really valued their craftsmanship. They created everything with such a beautiful form and flawless skill. I wanted to emulate some of those ideas in my work by making everything custom and handmade. I believe it takes part of the artist's soul. This was what ancient Japanese people established hundreds of years ago. From their Edo period of fierce Samurai warriors and woodblock printing to their incredible modern approach in design and technology today. These are important values that I really admire.

The Geisha Sake bottle shows the beautiful shape of a Japanese woman in an ancient time when everything about the Geisha was admired and worshiped. Everything they did had to be perfect. From the way they walked, to the way they poured sake in a cup. I wanted the end user to experience a traditional Japanese scene, with not only having a bottle to represent a Geisha, but creating a mood using the other Japanese elements of the packaging.

My Studio, My Sanctuary

My studio is where I work late nights, read, explore and create new, personal ideas.  I’m surrounded by total inspiration.
From my library of books, toy collections, works of art, to the random things that fill the empty spaces. Call me old school, but I like to read actual books and magazines. My personal library ranges from art books, design magazines, tattoo magazines, and comic books. Nights vary from drawing in sketch books to designing a logo for client. Music is a big part as well. Lately, I've been listening to electric, dance and a few indie rock bands to get the creative juices flowing.
